Venue

The 2025 ISHS Conference will be held in the Forest Hotel (see Practical details), about 5 km away from the historic center of the thousand-year-old former capital of Poland. It is a spectacular location, next to Zinar Castle overlooking the Vistula river and the mountainous landscape. It adjoins the largest wooded area of Kraków, ideal for summer early morning walks. The Conference will be co-hosted by the Jagiellonian University, the oldest public university in Poland.

Conference rooms

In the Forest Hotel there are 9 conference rooms, 4 of which we will use: 180-seat Auditorium Hall, and 3 smaller rooms.

Aula (Auditorium Hall) with a theatrical arrangement is the largest room in the Forest Hotel, designed with attention to acoustic standards and the comfort of viewers. Auditorium hall has a foyer with an area of 200 square meters with an entrance to the terrace directly connected to the lecture hall. It is reserved for all ISHS plenary meetings during the conference. Other rooms reserved for ISHS are the following: Acacia (max 40 people), Forest (max 60 people), Pinewood (max 25 people). The Spruce room (max 15 people) is reserved for ISHS Board and Humor Board meetings (at lunch).

Tower of Szyszko-Bohusz

Located right next to the Castle, Historic Tower was a residence of a famous architect Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz. He designed the Tower as an intimate and ethereal space. The Fireplace Room has an exceptional, historic coffered ceiling from the Castle in Wiśnicz Nowy.

Ziyad restaurant

After a thorough modernization, the Ziyad restaurant with a 30-year tradition has gained a new, intriguing space with a total area of over 500 square meters. The restaurant is located on two levels, and its integral part are terraces and arcades with stunning views. The new, original menu is based on premium products: Polish beef, lamb, steaks, seafood, fresh fish and aromatic spices with an oriental Kurdish twist.
